P.B.Shelley is one of the most popular English poets to the aged Japanese who only knew from the last famous stanza “If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?”, but even so they totally mislead by the famous Japanese translation “冬来たりなば 春遠からじ”, which is nothing but an expectation for warm Spring through cold Winter, or the wisdom to overcome difficulties. It was really shocking when I first encountered “Ode to the West Wind” with its intense pitch and fully coloured wilderness of the West Wind. Thanks to your new interpretation, I felt like the poet’s heart beat. (Pardon my JEnglish.)

I haven’t read the Japanese translation, but I will certainly do so! It is very often the case that poetry cannot easily be translated from one language to another.
